1) If possible rent before Memorial Day and after Labor Day, those off season weeks are less expensive. The absolute best time, in my opinion, to visit the Outer Banks is September-November.
2) When booking a summer week rent from Sunday to Sunday that way you will avoid the major traffic congestion that occurs on Saturday. If you are planning a Saturday to Saturday trip the best time to arrive on the Outer Banks is before 8am or after 7pm. When leaving the best time to be off the island is before 7am.
3) No matter who you rent form whether its from a private owner or rental company make sure you get all of your questions answered before you get down. Nothing will ruin a vacation faster than checking into your house to find out that it is not what you expected.
4) Once you are here relax an enjoy the natural beauty and wonderful restaurants the Outer Banks has to offer.
