Outer Banks Real Estate Blog-Movie Review For "Nights In Rodanthe"

Wow!! What a great time everyone had the at the Outer Banks premier of Nights In Rodanthe starring Richard Gere and Diane Lane. The locals packed the R/C theater in Kill Devil Hills that was invitation only for those who were part of the film. My wife and I were lucky enough to be extras in the film and got tickets to the premier. It was fitting that there was a nor-easter blowing outside just like one of the big scenes that took place in the movie. It was so bad that several of the ticket holders from Hatteras and Ocracoke were not able to make it up due to ocean over wash closing the roads on Hatteras Island. While none of the big stars were there to watch with us no one cared, we just wanted to catch a glimpse of ourselves in the movie.  I am thrilled to say while I did not make the cut my wife did!!! Now I am living with a "movie star"!! All the scenes we were a part of were shown as a montage of clips. It amazed me that we were on set shooting those scenes for 12 hours and only about 2 minutes made it into the movie. I now know why movies cost so much to make. Even though a lot of locals were left on the cutting room floor the breathtaking scenery of the Outer Banks was featured in almost all the movie. You could hear the ohhs and aahhs as the images of the Outer Banks played out on the screen. You could feel a sense of pride that everyone in the audience felt as we watched those images on screen knowing it was our home. Get out this weekend and go see Nights In Rodanthe!!!

As for the movie, let me say I have never read a Nicolas Sparks book or have never been to see one of his movies so I will leave the real movie reviews up to all of you.

Please let me know what you think of the movie MattHuband@HometownOBX.com
